One thing that made me sad and one that made me happy. Apparently Vox templates have been imported to Livejournal, but there you get to customize them whereas here we do not. : ( I'm already happy with my LJ layout's customization. I want to personalize this layout. Oh well.
I was pleased to see this Saiyuki AMV tonight. It's very touching [and the nod to Homura/Goku makes me wibble a little]. For some reason, VOX is being a little bitch to me today, and won't let me embed this from You Tube, so you'll have to go there the old fashioned way via link.
I've been rewatching some of the older episodes of Saiyuki. I haven't mentioned it here before, but Saiyuki is one of my favorite anime & manga. It's a take on the ancient Chinese tale of the journey to the west by a monk and his 3 demon companions. I particularly love how a whole second season was based off of a one shot side story in G-Fantasy. The animators did a good job with it. Here are a couple of clips. The first is the opening sequence of the second season. I love the song, Still Time, that is playing during it.
The next clip is of Homura the Prince of War and Goku having a little conversation while Goku is chained up. Homura is fascinated with Goku for various reasons, one of which is that he needs him for his purposes, and another you can possibly guess at.
If you haven't seen Saiyuki, you might want to rent it from Netflicks or something. There are three seasons of goodness to rent, and the first couple of DVDs from the fourth may be available for rent. And you should definitely buy the manga if you like it, since it is even better than the anime.
